New York Cavalry Officer

New York Cavalry Officer

Nice full-standing civil war cdv photo of a new york cavalry officer taken in the beardsley brothers studio in ithaca, ny. The officer is posed nicely wtih hand on hip and his forage cap on the table next to him. Just visible under the crown are the grips of teh small crossed sabers of his cavalry insignia on the front of his cap. The photo has no tax stamp and the form of the backmark is an early ot mid-war one for this photographer (in my experience. ) a collector has noted in pencil taht the subject was probably in the 15th ny cavalry, but i see nothing in the photo to back that up. They did recruit here, but os did a few other cavalry regiments, so i do not place a lot of weight on that identification.
Still a nice photograph. Shipping $3 in the us plus insurance, $15 overseas.

Ny and oh add sales tax. Check, m. O, paypal.

Thanks!
