Y. S. V. Cornell was 20 when he enlisted in the 137th on 8/16/62 in ithaca to serve three years. He mustered ni as private co.

D, 8/28/62, and was appointed musician sometime prior to october, 1863. He mustered out with his company 6/9/65 near bladensburg, md.
The 137th had a good fighting record, holding the right wing on culps hill at gettysburg in fierce fighting. The regiment later transferred to the west and fought with sherman. A good identified imaeg from a fighting regiment with gettysburg history. Shipping $3 in the us, $15 overseas. Insurance extra.
