You are bidding on a. aRre and wonderful, ca1865 cdv photograph of a two civil war soldiers.

hTis fantastic, cdv photo measures approx. 2 x 3 3/8 and is mounted on its original, square corner, gilt bordre card mount (overall size 2 1/2 x 4). The photo has the photographer's mark on the back that reads mcphreson & oliver, no. 132 canal street and also has a 1 cent proprietary revenue stamp attached that has a water mark of may 25 1865. The style of the card mount and the revenue stamp date the image to the civil war period.

This is a full length image of tow soldiers, one standing and one sitting, the following is written at the bottom in cursive smith kirise. The albumen photograph & the card mount have visible water damage to the left side but other then that the photo is in great shape.

This is a very rare and very attractive, ca1865 cdv photograph with revenue stamp and a fantastic addition to any collection!
